Prime Minsiter gives condolences to Virginia Foley

Prime Minister Ali Abul Ragheb today visited the U.S. Embassy in Amman, where he gave condolences to Virginia Foley, widow of diplomat Laurence Foley who was assassinated on Monday.  The Prime Minster was received by Ambassador and Mrs. Edward W. Gnehm, Assistant Secretary of State William Burns, and Deputy USAID Administrator Fredrick Schieck, who came to Jordan yesterday to oversee the return of Laurence Foley’s remains to the U.S.

Prime Minster Abul Ragheb reiterated Jordan’s condemnation of this “heinous crime,” saying that: “such terrorist acts will not be tolerated,” and that “the Government of Jordan is determined to bring the perpetrators to justice.”  He stressed that all Jordanians see this crime as an attack against Jordan, and emphasized that Jordan will always remain a welcoming and safe country for all visitors.
